Mary Daniel
Certified Integrative
Nutrition Health Coach
I’m a Virginia native and a California girl at heart, now enjoying a happy life on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. Well before my coaching days, I was a wellness enthusiast and advocate for my two children, their friends, my husband and our friends, my dogs, and my extended family. In 2019, I began training for professional certification so I could launch my practice to benefit others.

The journey that brought me to Your One Precious Life was marked by chronic illness, and a lot of trial and error looking for solutions. Along the way, I discovered that the body and mind are an inseparable duo. Transformative healing, therefore, must address the brain, physiology, and the nervous system, all of which work together to shape our lives and ensure wellbeing.

The Whole-Body Approach

I studied innovative dietary theories and effective coaching principles at the globally recognized Institute for Integrative Nutrition, along with retraining and self-regulation techniques for the brain and nervous system. My training and subsequent experience have enabled me to help clients from diverse backgrounds identify goals and, ultimately, adopt lifestyles conducive to ongoing well-being.
As a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach — in simple terms, a certified holistic coach — I personalize a plan for each client and serve as guide, partner, cheerleader, and liaison between clients and medical providers.

Drawing from my own experiences with chronic illness, trauma, and inflammatory conditions, I coach with compassion, carefully asking the right questions to uncover solutions and guide clients toward renewed states of health and well-being.

My practice embraces a holistic, whole-body approach to coaching rooted in the belief that our mental state influences our physical well-being. I consider relationships, physical activity, work life, and spiritual endeavors to be our primary sources of nourishment, with good nutrition serving as the secondary influence. When we lose sight of these interconnected sources of nourishment, unhealthy patterns of behavior can emerge and reverberate through every aspect of life. Addressing the whole body can lead to a lifetime of feeling better.

A Word About Nutrition
Most approaches to healthy eating dwell on calories, carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Rather than categorizing foods as good or bad and imposing restrictions, I prefer to guide clients toward making gradual changes. Incremental steps based on client preferences often have a greater impact than a client initially expects.

Unlike conventional medicine, which often targets problem identification and treatment, health coaching focuses on amplifying what has worked, what is effective now, and what can yield even better results in the future. Similar to life, career, and athletic coaches, health coaches see their role as a collaborative partnership. They emphasize strengths, providing accountability and support without dwelling on problems. In the process, they empower clients to realize their full potential by raising awareness, identifying patterns, shifting limiting beliefs, and cultivating a growth-oriented mindset. Through sustainable wellness strategies, health coaches enhance lifelong health and well-being, aiming to inspire lasting transformations.
